CPE Event Notification Form

If you are holding an event for which you will award CPE, under the COPAS CPE licensing you must first notify us of the event with this form.

  • Name of group holding event
  • The contact person for the COPAS office who will take care of all the administration paperwork/tasks for the event
  • MM slash DD slash YYYY
  • The time the event will start INCLUDE THE TIME ZONE
  • Physical address for live, in-person events or platform for online events (Adobe Connect, Zoom, MS Teams, etc.)
  • This is the title of the CPE event
  • What is this presentation about? In a couple of sentences provide a description of the content of the presentation
  • All presentations must have learning objectives. Please read the document on format of learning objectives prior to completing this section.
  • MM slash DD slash YYYY
    The date that the presentation was first presented. If this CPE event is the first presentation date of publication is the date of the event.
  • The designated field of study for this CPE event is required. Please review the official Fields of Study document on the website to select the relevant option
  • Consider the intended audience for this presentation and the level of the material included. Is this course basic, intermediate, or advanced level?
  • If this presentation has been designated an intermediate or advanced course you must include at least one prerequisite eg. "some previous accounting experience required" or "some prior knowledge of Excel."
  • If there is any advance preparation required for attendance in the event please state it here.
  • CPE presentations must include a minimum of 50 minutes of educational material for 1 CPE credit. COPAS awards CPE in 1/2 credit increments thereafter. 1.5 credits = 75+ minutes; 2 CPE credits = 100+ minutes; 2.5 CPE credits = 125+ minutes; 3 CPE credits = 150+ minutes etc.
  • The registration cost per person required here
  • We are required to provide access to policy for refund, cancellation or complaint. Please provide the name and email address of person participants should contact for this.
  • Enter the name/s of the person or people who will present
  • This is the company for which the presenter works. If the presenter does not represent a company enter "Independent."
  • We need to know if the presenter wrote the presentation materials
  • If the presenter did not write the presentation we need the name of the author
  • If the presentation is an Auditing or Accounting presentation the CPA number and State of the author is required. If the presentation is a Tax presentation the CPA number or Tax Agent ID number and State of the author is required. If the author does not have a CPA or Tax Agent number type "need review." If the course does not fall into these Fields of Study type "not applicable."

      We require a resume or bio for the author and presenter. Please ensure that the bio/s include information showing why they are a Subject Matter Expert for the topic presented

      There are specific requirements for advertising CPE events. Please read the NASBA Advertising requirements before composing your event notice to your intended audience. Upload a copy of your meeting notice here for approval prior to distribution.
